Client: Center Parcs France (Pierre & Vacances Group)
Site: Center Parcs “Le Bois aux Daims” resort (Morton – France
)

The project brief involved shaping and structuring the playground designed by Center Parcs’ architects while taking account of the layout, the Fairy Tales & Legends theme, the scenario and the trend book provided at the outset.
The goal was also to give added value to how the play structures are organised, the route inside the structures and the play activities on offer.

Proludic created an indoor playground sprawling over more than 500 m².

Two imposing structures inspired by the Fairy Tales & Legends theme welcome children into a magical world created with our exclusive Grafic Games customisation technique. Over 250 m² of panels feature arrow slits, illuminations and illustrated plates representing fairy-tale characters, which set the tone and produce a fantasy-like atmosphere.

The Giant’s Puppet Show for 3 to 6-year-olds and the Giant House of Cards for 6 to 12-year-olds have been built over several levels, complete with secret passages, rope and vine walkways, wave-like gangways and tunnels with peepholes.

The structure for older children has been built like a maze. The levels at 4 and 6 m contain cannons for the 16,000 foam balls.
A tube slide and wave multi-slide guarantee white-knuckle thrills.

Proludic has produced a large-scale bespoke project with a completely innovative design.

Together we have come up with a stunning creation in Center Parcs’ latest resort in France, the Bois aux Daims. Our approach was probably an unusual one for Proludic. We create themes for all the areas that are open to our visitors. To achieve that aim, we produce a scenario. In this case, the theme is based on our regions’ Fairy Tales & Legends. Then we create visuals of the required mood. Then, by means of an invitation to tender, we identified the partner to develop the most enjoyable possible structures in line with our ‘artistic vision’ (and our budgets!). This involves working closely together, with numerous work sessions and plenty of communication. The result… success, given the number of children who spend hours there!
