A new space to encourage outdoor sports practice

As part of its overall sports policy, the municipality of Givenchy-en-Gohelle wanted to strengthen opportunities for independent outdoor physical activity. Teenagers were identified as the primary beneficiaries of this initiative. The municipality therefore decided to develop a new sports area dedicated to teenagers and pre-teens, offering them an attractive place to meet, be active and freely practice physical activities. Designed as an accessible, open-access space for everyone, this development responds to the growing need for places adapted to young people’s sports practices.

To achieve this ambition, the town chose to combine a multi-use games area with an ACTI’Ninja course, offering a variety of uses and sporting challenges. Proludic supported the municipality in the design of this space.

This new facility fully reflects the municipality’s commitment to encouraging physical activity among teenagers, revitalising its public spaces and promoting sport as a driver of social interaction, autonomy and community life.

A multi-use sports field for several disciplines

At the heart of the development, a multi-use games area allows young people and teenagers to practice different team sports. Equipped with a synthetic turf surface, it provides optimal playing comfort for all ball sports.

This versatile facility enables several disciplines to be played, such as football, basketball and handball. Designed as an open and welcoming space, it encourages spontaneous meet-ups, improvised games between friends and shared moments around sport.

An ACTI’Ninja course to take on sporting challenges

Located right next to the multi-use games area, an ACTI’Ninja course offers a fun and dynamic approach to sport. Inspired by famous obstacle courses, this type of equipment invites young people to test their agility, balance, coordination and strength through a series of challenges.

The course begins with a stopwatch panel that allows users to challenge each other and measure their performance. Participants then move through different obstacles: a tunnel to crawl through, stepping steps to jump from module to module, followed by an unstable bridge that challenges balance and concentration. The course continues with the winding tubes, a structure that requires coordination and agility to get through. An interactive exercise panel then offers an additional challenge: a spinning wheel randomly selects an exercise to perform, such as push-ups or coordination movements. The course ends with an inclined ramp inspired by the famous Ninja Warrior wall.

With this new space, the municipality of Givenchy-en-Gohelle offers a modern place dedicated to free and accessible sports practice. This development encourages young people to stay active, push their limits and share enjoyable moments through sport, while also helping to bring new energy to the public space.
