Jewel Changi Airport in Singapore, renowned worldwide for its exceptional quality and unique lush atmosphere, sought to enhance the travel experience for families.

In line with this commitment to excellence—where the range of services and the quality of infrastructure play a key role in the passenger experience—the installation of a playground within the airport adds real value. It provides families with a dedicated space where children can play, release energy, and enjoy themselves during waiting times, making the journey more pleasant for everyone. In such a high-traffic environment, this type of facility also helps strengthen the site’s attractiveness by offering a unique and engaging experience.

The client envisioned an immersive project that would blend seamlessly into the airport’s green environment while delivering a strong visual experience inspired by “pop-up” books, where scenery comes to life. To meet this ambition, Proludic designed and created a fully bespoke playground using its Grafic Games® solution, a technique that allows for custom decoration of play structures.

An immersive playground inspired by the tropical forest

The playground is set on a themed surface representing a river and a swamp.

On the “land” area, two 4-metre-high multi-play towers rise like large trees at the heart of the forest. Designed as true adventure playgrounds, they offer a wide range of activities inspired by jungle exploration.

Children can:

  • climb the trees using climbing nets, ladders and climbing walls
  • move from branch to branch via rope structures
  • observe their surroundings through portholes
  • relax in a rubber pod designed as a hammock
  • slide back down using a slide

The two towers are connected by a small crossing structure designed for younger children, installed over the “water” area of the setting, allowing them to move between zones like crossing from one riverbank to another in the heart of the jungle.

Throughout the playground, the tropical theme continues with numerous play panels designed to resemble vegetation.

With this playground, the airport offers a unique adventure space—demonstrating how play can enhance the passenger experience and transform a transit area into a true destination for discovery and entertainment.
