The idea is that as trees grow, they absorb CO2 from the atmosphere, store part of the carbon and give off oxygen (O2) into the atmosphere. Thanks to this phenomenon, known as photosynthesis, trees act as filters and lead to reductions in the impact of CO2 on global warming.
Through this concrete action, emissions of CO2 from our activities (industries, transport, heating, deforestation, etc.) could be partially compensated by planting trees. |
