As we announced in our Newsletter last October: the Ludic’Area urban development concept won the 2009 Janus de l’Industrie, awarded by the Institut Français du Design (IFD), under the aegis of the Ministries of Commerce and Industry.

This quality label is awarded to the best projects implemented by firms determined to enhance well-being for people and their urban surroundings.

Earlier this year, a further distinction was added, in the form of the Ecodesign accreditation that is awarded to firms showing the strongest commitments in the environmental field.

Proludic’s corporate strategy has been centred on demanding quality procedures and environmental policies for a long time, it was granted in February 2010.

For Proludic, this brings further recognition to add to the quality labels already obtained:
ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and AFAQ 1000NR.

The Ecodesign accreditation is a sign of recognition for companies that take responsibility for the environment. Proludic help maintain sustainable environment in the following ways.

Design:

• Design of the various items of equipment oriented towards maximum modularity
• Choice of materials well suited to their use in order to ensure product durability
• Creation of wearing parts that are easy to replace, to extend product service life
• Taking part imbrications into account in part design, to minimise consumption of raw materials during their machining, together with the volume of waste
• Taking maximum dimensions into account in part design, to standardise packaging and optimise transport
• Marking of plastic parts with a view to their recycling

Raw materials:

• Choice of materials that are over 90% recyclable
• Selection of wood produced from managed forests (PEFC)

Manufacture:

• Environmentally friendly production (Site with ISO14001 certification)
• Choice of paints that are free of solvents and heavy metals, to limit discharge of VOCs
• Waste management through recovery methods
• Recycling of the cardboard packing from subcontracted parts, to provide chocking for the Company’s own packaging

Logistics:

• Rationalisation of order preparations aimed at reducing the surface area taken up in the trucks travelling to destinations in France and in other countries, to help to cut atmospheric pollution

Use:

• Maintenance contracts are proposed to ensure product durability and safety
