The Vertical World: an adventure trail

In our previous Newsletter, we began a presentation of our new LUDIC’AREA urban development concept with a focus on the big themed towers of the Fantastic Cities. These structures, which are 6.50 m high, form part of the Fantastic Worlds.

In this issue, we continue our presentation of the Fantastic Worlds by taking a look at the Vertical World, a really innovative climbing structure for outdoor play activities.

The Vertical World provides users with the possibility of having fun with space, and also in the air, thanks to modules designed for use without setting foot on the ground.

A real overhead trail, the Vertical World represents a very different way of exercising motor skills, stimulating children’s physical abilities while placing importance on balance, control of body movements and self-confidence.

The Vertical World, 100% pure adventure

The Vertical World is designed along the same lines as the “Parkour”, transforming the elements of urban surroundings into obstacles to get across, with the aim of moving from one point to another in the most efficient way.

The Vertical World provides users with a series of elements to climb up, balance on and clamber over, with several levels of difficulty.

The climbing panels form the key element of the equipment.

They can be linked together in several ways: horizontally, vertically or at a slope.

Each panel is associated with a specific type of movement thanks to holds placed in particular spots.
The panel layout naturally changes the hold locations and hence the level of difficulty, which enables a range of different trails to be set up.

In all the layouts, movements are technically demanding but also fun.

The wide openings enable users to climb over or through the panels; it takes agility and stamina to get from one module to the next.

Linking elements such as nets, climbing tubes, or walkways, lengthen the trail and further enhance the enjoyment and attractiveness of the activity. Tunnels can also be connected to the panels, providing shelters or further climbing structures.

The Vertical World is available in each of the 3 themes making up the LUDIC’AREA concept:
Metropolis, Medieval and Amazon.

The themes take the form of specific small elements decorating the ends of the posts (gear wheels for Metropolis, banners and flags for Medieval, and greenery for Amazon).

The Vertical World is a complete play activity. It suits all types of ground layout, area size and differences in levels.

The Vertical World equipment can also be used as supports for supervised physical activities for young people.

In this case, each element is used in particular ways to enhance acquisition of specific physical techniques.
