Proludic and Sustainable development

A strong environmental policy

A fully-fledged corporate philosophy, Proludic’s environmental policy involves implementation of significant objectives, to:
 Manage the waste generated
 Cut levels of atmospheric pollution
Manage natural resources and highlight the advantages of eco-design in developing its equipment
Reduce consumption of natural resources, energy and chemicals through responsible procurement

Waste management
Waste disposal complies with the requirements set out in the environmental regulations. Whether it stems from the industrial or administrative activities, 80% of the waste is recycled, and the other 20% is passed on to recovery processes. This means that all our waste, whether it is made up of wood, metal, paint, paper, cardboard, batteries, inks, etc., is sorted, transformed into energy, composted, or recycled.

Management of atmospheric pollution
Since 2006, Proludic has opted for reductions in its emissions of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) by updating its painting process. This involved replacing solvent based paint with water based paint that is used on the plywood parts. The new process has enabled us to cut our VOC emission levels by 80%.
Proludic has also installed a suction system in its facilities to capture the dust given off during woodwork, and hence minimize its production of atmospheric waste.

Moreover, again with a view to minimizing its impact on the environment, Proludic has optimized its packaging to rationalize the numbers of its transport operations and thus help to reduce atmospheric pollution.

Management of natural resources
As a major consumer of wood due to the design of its equipment, Proludic has decided to work solely with lumber operators who have obtained PEFC approval, to ensure that all the wood it uses is obtained from sustainable managed forests.

Management of responsible procurement
Whatever the field (transport, materials, subcontracting, printing), Proludic gives priority to suppliers in light of their environmental awareness or their environmental recognition and certification (PEFC, ISO 14001, Green print, EURO).
- For example, the printed documents are all entrusted to printers with Green print certification. These printers are committed to reduce their impact on the environment by guaranteeing the use of processes to treat hazardous waste, avoid polluting natural environments, securing storage of hazardous liquids and avoiding using toxic products.
- Concerning transport, Proludic gives priority to service providers who take an environmentally aware approach and take the EURO standard into account. This standard sets out to enhance awareness among drivers and encourage them to adopt rational driving methods, cut vehicle pollution emission levels, and reduce fuel consumption.

Materials selected in compliance with Sustainable Development
The choice of materials is a key phase of equipment design, in terms of quality, safety, aesthetic concerns, play aspects and sensory or environmental considerations.
Proludic takes considerable care when making its choices between wood, steel and stainless steel, and deciding how to deal with recycling and the future prospects for the materials. These are all recyclable, sturdy, and easy to maintain, and they ensure long equipment service life.

All members of Proludic staff work hard to ensure these actions are maintained at all times.
