2007 PLAY AREA AWARDS

This competition is organised by the Federation of French Sports Industries (FIFAS) and the "Gazette des communes" and "Courrier des maires" magazines, published by the Moniteur Group.

It awards prizes to areas and towns that attach great importance to the development of play areas.

The presentation ceremony for the 2007 Play Area Awards was held on 21st November at the Mayors and Local Authorities Show, under the patronage of Mrs Roselyne BACHELOT-NARQUIN, the French Minister of Health, Youth and Sports. This was the third annual awards ceremony, and it demonstrated growing success among Local Authorities, with 41 taking part as opposed to 27 in 2006.

The winners in the category of areas with populations under 10,000

This Award was presented to the locality of Le Cendre (Puy De Dôme department).
Le Cendre has a population of 4,925 and has applied a successful Youth-oriented policy for several years.

The Proludic Ixo equipment range was used in this area to encourage interaction between children with a wide range of ages and abilities.

Jury’s Special Award

The Jury’s Special Award was awarded to Saint-Laurent-du-Var (Alpes Maritimes department).

With a population of 30,000, the development of play areas holds an important role for the community. The Proludic Tiboo range, which is ideally suited to Crèches and schools compliments a range of teaching projects and can aid children’s development and motor skills.
