Product development and improvement: Roundabout Casestudy

Our designers work daily on the development of new products and improvements to existing products.
This constant drive illustrates our determination to ensure the products supplied are reliable and of a high quality.

For each item of equipment, a quality control analysis is carried out to identify which components are exposed to the highest levels of stress during use. These items are then put through a series of intensive tests.

In the case of a roundabout, the "sensitive" element is the rotating shaft, the main part on this type of play equipment.
Two tests are carried out to ensure the correct sizing for the component.

A check in a specialist centre to validate the material selected for use.

Followed by specific fatigue tests that put the roundabout through actual conditions of use, with a load of 300 kg. Many hours of continuous operation are necessary to test the shaft under extreme conditions and check its reliability.

The results are noted and analysed, and if necessary lead to modifications on the element concerned. This is then re-tested to ensure the highest reliability and durability.
